Hello again everyone,
We regret to inform our members that we were unable to make a reduced 2020 season happen. Sadly, our best efforts have fallen short.
We have been working diligently since the Spring, continuously adjusting the schedule as the weeks went by, with a plan to be ready when/if the track opened. This has meant communicating with our Race Director and his crew to secure their availability, engaging St John’s Ambulance, putting together a Covid plan for events and working with Scotia Speedworld for track rental time.
Understandably, Scotia Speedworld is doing what they can to get racing back to their track. It is a big task for them. With the best of intentions both sides worked hard to make it happen but, in the end, we just ran out of time and workable dates.
Lucas Strackerjan, Kartbahn owner, also worked with us recently, trying to help us look for an alternative if we could not get back to SSW this season. He contacted Windsor Exhibition to see if we might be able to rent the track that was left there when the amusement park left earlier this summer. Unfortunately, the track is no longer usable, and the land will be repurposed.
We are sorry to be bringing this news. However, we want you all to know that we are now turning our attention to the 2021 season with a plan to reboot karting in the Spring. As always, there will be an AGM early in the New year, so please watch for that.
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please contact us.
Yours in Racing,
ARMS Karting Director
