Happy New Year from the AMKA Executive

This is a quick check in to see how everyone is doing and find out who we can expect on the track this season. I know we are all itching to get back to racing and try and forget about the ‘lost season’. Things do look positive for holding events this year and we are back into the planning stages. Here is a tentative schedule worked out with SSW and our Racing Officials:

o   June 5 – T&T

o   June 12 – Race 1

o   July 10 – Race 2

o   July 17 – Races 3&4

o   Aug 7 – Race 5

o   Aug 21 – Race 6&7

o   Sept 11 – Race 8

o   Sept 18 – Race 9 & Race 10 night Race

Obviously, the pandemic is not over, so there are many things to coordinate with SSW and NS Health to allow us to hold events. Our members safety is paramount. At this point, we must plan for the worst case but, basically, the protocols will depend on how things are going at any given moment. It is a fluid situation that will have to be constantly monitored. With the cooperation of our members, and the hope of things improving as time goes on, we feel confident that safe events will be very achievable.

There will be an announcement for our AGM coming very soon, accompanied by an agenda of things we would like to discuss with everyone. It will be held virtually and the more people who join in the better. Losing a season really puts us at a disadvantage going into this season as we have no real feel for grids in each division and we have lacked time, and ability, to attract new drivers. Getting as many racers back from 2019 as possible will be crucial.

It would be extremely helpful if you could respond to this message with your intentions for the season by emailing
