IMPORTANT - AMKA 2026 updates
Race Registration
Race 2 registration is NOW OPEN- Registration deadline for this season is Friday BEFORE midnight. (23:59:59) Penalty applies for anyone registering after this time.
We are excited to welcome our friends from CEKS in New Brunswick to Kartbahn for Race #2.
To help everyone prepare, Lucas has agreed to open a free practice session on Saturday evening, June 13 (exact time coming soon).
This session will be limited to:
CEKS drivers
AMKA rookie drivers
2026 Practice schedule and package prices
Kartbahn has confirmed that Monday evening practices will continue throughout the season starting June 15. The cost structure will be:
$300 for the first driver on a team
$200 for each additional driver on the same team
This fee covers all Kartbahn practices beginning June 15 and continuing for the remainder of the season. There is also the possibility of additional practice opportunities being added during the week or on weekends.
As many of you know, two races are scheduled at Scotia Speedworld in August. Practice sessions leading up to those events will be focused on helping drivers adapt to the Speedworld layout. These sessions will not be included in the Kartbahn practice package, and separate AMKA registration information will be provided closer to those dates.
Driver Training and Mentorship
AMKA will facilitate the majority of the Monday evening practices, and the Driver Development Program will be integrated into several of these sessions.
Now that practice scheduling has been finalized, Program Head Coaches Nick Roussakov and Kevin Stoneman will begin building the program schedule. We currently have 16 drivers registered and will be reaching out soon with additional details.
Please email directors@amka.ca to be added to the list.
IMPORTANT Cadet Division Changes
Following Race #1, it became clear that there is a significant pace difference between our experienced Cadet drivers and our rookies. This presents both a safety concern and a confidence challenge for newer drivers.
After discussions with a Parent whose Son was involved in a Race#1 incident and with Lucas, we have decided to split the Cadet field into two groups until the pace gap narrows. The groups will be determined using lap times from race-day practice sessions.
Lucas has generously provided additional track time to accommodate the extra races. Race days will finish by 1pm until further notice. Our goal is to return to a single Cadet field later in the season as drivers gain experience and confidence.
This change is especially important with Race #2 being an Interclub event, as we may welcome several rookie Cadet drivers from Moncton, creating an even larger field.
